Spring litter is here — six kittens still looking for their people
A small home cattery · since 2011

Russian Blue kittens, raised in the middle of our family.

Silver-tipped double coats, deep green eyes, and the gentle, velcro temperament the breed is loved for. Our kittens grow up underfoot — on the kitchen floor, in the laundry basket, on somebody's lap — so they arrive to you already sure that people are good news.

The breed

A quiet cat with a very long memory for the people it loves

Sailors carried them out of the White Sea port of Arkhangelsk in the 1860s. The dense double coat, the frost-tipped silver, the reserved and thoughtful nature — all of it came from that cold north.

Our home

Two people, one old farmhouse, and rather a lot of cats

We started in 2011 with a single queen, Vesna, and we have never grown past two litters a year — because kittens raised in a spare room are not the same as kittens raised in the kitchen.

Every litter is born in our bedroom and spends its last month learning the ordinary noise of a house. By the time a kitten goes home, nothing much frightens it.

Letters we keep on the fridge

“Anya slept on my chest the first night and has not really stopped since. Maria still texts to ask how she is, four years on.”
Elena R. — Providence, RI
“We were nervous about flying a kitten across the country. He arrived on someone's lap, ate dinner, and was under the covers by ten.”
Daniel & Priya — Portland, OR
“Our daughter has asthma and we had given up on the idea of a cat. Two years with Grisha and not one bad night.”
The Whitfields — Burlington, VT
